Master’s in International Business Communication

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My key interest is how businesses can integrate sustainability into their business strategy. I think it is exciting to see how companies can find strategic ways to incorporate sustainability into their business practices and how they can profit from engaging in sustainable activities. Furthermore, I think it is interesting to explore what we as students can do to create a more sustainable future.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

I have the biggest passion for goal number 3, 12 and 13. I have a passion for goal number 3 as I am currently working in a pharmaceutical company which produces products that directly contributes to this goal. Moreover, goals number 12 and 13 interest me as I am working directly with these as a part of my internship.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

As a sustainability influencer, I hope that I can help increase the awareness of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals amongst students. Furthermore, I hope that I can help improve student’s engagement in sustainability by providing them with concrete examples of how they can contribute to the 17 goals.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My main interests in sustainability are food waste, optimal sustainability-friendly diet and possible ways to reduce plastic from our everyday life.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

These are directly linked to my passions:

Zero hunger and good health and well-being, which are directly connected to finding a balance, healthy diet, which could feed all people around the world and at the same time be nutrients reach. In my opinion, if someone has an empty stomach or eats only junk food because it’s the only food he can find in his surroundings (food desserts in the USA), I can hardly imagine this person to think about higher education or dreaming of higher goals.
The last, but not least is goal Life on land, which accounts for protection and sustainable management of terrestrial ecosystems. As a current student of Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, I am really keen on finding the most optimal ways to save the resting natural areas, which are crucial both for another species on this planet as to us, humans. Going to nature has been proven to be one of the most efficient antistress remedies for people with chronic stress and anxiety.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

I would like to contribute as much as possible in my academic circles, starting with the closest environment of my programme buddies and going further to extend sustainable knowledge within my faculty and (who knows) whole University of Copenhagen. Spreading easy ideas and information about SDGs in an understandable way will be the most challenging thing, but I am truly motivated and ready to be a Sustainability Influencer.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

That the exploitation of resources by governments and companies for the sake of development has to be more responsible to benefit humans in the long run

The triple bottom line/3 Ps (People, planet and profit) a way to make businesses more responsible

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

– Goal 2: Zero hunger
– Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
– Goal 13: Climate action
– Goal 1: No poverty

All goals are interconnected but I do think that these four goals are somewhat the basis to achieve all the other goals!

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

I would like us to ‘bring’ the SDGs down to an eye to eye level and influence individuals to incorporate these goals into their daily lives and remind them that OUR actions and choices influence the outcome of the SDGs 2030.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My key interests in sustainability lie within the area of production and innovation or lack hereof. I find it difficult to touch upon sustainable development without starting her.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

To me all SDG goals are correlated but the SDGs that I have an extra passion for are namely 9,13 and 17.

As an Afro-Dane brought up in East-Africa, I see the problems in Africa and possible solutions in Denmark. However, industry, innovation, infrastructure and partnership are missing. Industry, innovation and infrastructure needs to be revised in order to find out how and where it can be made more sustainable – while still gaining profit, in order to combat climate changes and inequality. Hence, there is need for partnerships in turn for more industries to participate in developing sustainable solutions.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

As a Sustainability Influencer I want to pave the way for global partnership and sustainable businesses.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

A sustainable food system is my key interest and focus. I find it interesting how sustainability issues are linked – how being conscious of one issue should make you conscious of another.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

I believe all the SDG’s are important, and that each one affect another. The SDG I have an extra passion for is 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production. Being conscious about how we produce, supply and consume food would make a huge impact. Hopefully that consciousness will affect decisions on other aspects of our life.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

Through the role as a Sustainability Influencer I hope to learn more about possible initiatives to make our daily routines sustainable. More importantly I hope to spread the word about the importance of considering and dealing with one’s impact on one’s surroundings and the world.

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My interest in sustainability stems from my passion for the environment, I think it is very important that we take good care of our earth to ensure that we can continue to live and thrive for decades and centuries to come.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

The SDG that I am the most passionate about is Climate Action, number 13, as I think climate change is the most urgent challenge facing us right now, and a lot of the other SDGs are also an important part of climate action.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

As a sustainability influencer I want to spread awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals and most importantly empower my fellow students and other young people to make a change. Because we can influence sustainability and the actions of each individual matter.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My key interests within sustainability are sustainable Entrepreneurship/sustainable Businesses since I believe that entrepreneurs, when building up their companies and pursuing a triple bottom line (environmental, social and economic goals) have a significant impact in terms of size but also in terms of being a role model to fight global problems and foster global change. Moreover, I am highly passionate about sustainable fashion, access to quality education and energy as well as women empowerment.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

All of the SDG goals are really important to me, but if I had to choose some, in particular, it would be:
– SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
– SDG 8: Gender Equality
– SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
– SDG 4: Quality Education

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

As a sustainability influencer I want to create awareness of the UN SDGs, spread the word about sustainability in its various forms and in particular encourage more entrepreneurs to include sustainability not as an CSR strategy but rather as a fundament in their core business – to finally show that business and sustainability has not to be an “either-or” -choice.

Environmental sustainability. More specific how you can find strategic ways to incorporate sustainability practices within firms that also makes business sense.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

Goal 13, not only because it comes closest to my heart, but also because I believe it’s the world’s most urgent problem to deal with.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

Learn as much as possible and expand my network in order to increase my changes of pursuing a career within sustainability.

Bachelor’s in European Studies

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My key interests are sustainable consumption and production, sustainable economic systems, climate change action, mental health, children and women empowerment and lastly the 21st century soft skills. The expected 2 billion more people in 2045 seen in regards to the worlds most pressing challenges calls for enormous action now in the path of sustainable solutions from all stakeholders.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

My passion and expertise are extensive in a majority of the global goals. Mental health is the overlooked SDG and as depression and the global epidemic of noncommunicable diseases is rising it calls for new strategic action on mental health in a global focus on developing and maintaining a strong and resilient mindset in SDG 3.

Demand and supply of the global population have an enormous effect on pushing the planetary boundaries and which is why the SDG 12 is incredibly important to prevent further erosion and depletion of world resources. Attention calls to SDG 8, how we get all people lifted from human downfalls but stay within the planetary boundaries and empowering women.

Goal 13 Climate Action as it has nonreversible consequences for all and will be most severe to the people with the least resources and resilience. We, Danes, and all other stakeholder are obliged to inform, change and develop current behavior into sustainable solutions to create societal and global resilience.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

My goal is to enable the SDG’s to be the focus of entrepreneurs and seen as the big business opportunity it presents. I hope to raise public awareness of urgency and lay out a path for change-making action for business and citizens. My goal is the SDG’s becomes a theme of conversation, seem visible and seen as part of us all and not in the hands of a selected few.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My main interests within sustainability stretch from sustainable production and value capture in supply chains to sustainable food systems and equality. More specifically, I have a passion for concepts such as the Circular Economy and sustainable product design.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

I believe all goals are of crucial importance, but If I had to choose one, the goal that mainly represents my interests would be goal 12. Nevertheless, I am a strong advocate for decent working conditions and equality, therefore goals 8 and 10 are just as important to me.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

My goal is twofold. I would both like to increase awareness on sustainability and the SDG goals and empower students to bring forth individual change. I believe that youth should play an important role in change making, and I want to help my fellow students realize that.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

Sustainability is such a broad discipline, but my key interests lie in our environmental impact and the decisions we make on a day to day basis. I think one of the biggest problems is that people often opt for convenience over compassion. It is important to remind people of reasons to care about their effect on the environment and our future whether it be an issue surrounding unsustainable food consumption and purchasing, recycling or energy sourcing.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

All of the SDGs are so interlinked you cannot have passion for one without the other. However, as a global health student, my attention goes towards SDG3. Good health and well-being Is a driver for positive outcomes in every respect. Not only do healthier lives equal better lives, good health is vital for boosting productivity of the workforce and bettering our economy.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

I am hoping to raise awareness and bring more attention to SDGs particularly to young people outside of my discipline. While as a global health master I am surrounded by like-minded individuals who are very much aware of key issues facing our environment and future, many young persons (by no fault of their own) are not as informed. As a sustainability influencer I believe I have a very unique and coveted position to shed light on the situation and get more people involved.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

“Making the world a better place for the next generations” this is a sentence used a lot, but it is certainly my biggest motivation. Before being an engineer, before anything, I am a father. I have seen beautiful things in this world, and I need the little ones to have an even better experience than my own, so they can do the same when in the future they have their own mini people.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

All the goals are very important, but if I had to choose the most important for me it would be number 13, climate action. As an arctic environmental engineer, climate change is a very known topic and because I lived in Greenland for 2 years, live in Denmark and come from Brazil, I have experienced firsthand how climate change can affect the world in different ways. I also must mention that I have a big passion for goals 5, gender equality, and 10, reduce inequalities.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

I want to work for the Global Goals and get a network of people who are engaged in them because those people are surely worth working with.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My key interests in sustainability are related to healthcare, accessibility, and climate change. I think that our build environment has the potential to impact people’s access to healthcare services, and subsequently impact their overall well-being. I also think that extreme fluctuations in our climate impact essential ingredients to good health and quality of life, including sustainable food and water sources.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

I am particularly interested in:
– Goal 2: Zero Hunger
– Goal 3: Good Health
– Goal 5: Gender Equality
– Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
– Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities
– Goal 13: Climate Action
– Goal 17: Partnerships for Goals

I believe that these goals are very inter-related when it comes to overall health and wellbeing. I have also worked on a food security project with a focus on gender mainstreaming and equality where I saw these goals at play.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

As a Sustainability Influencer, I want to broaden my knowledge about the SDGs and learn from other like-minded students and professionals. I am also excited to empower others to integrate the SDGs into their work and future goals.

What interests me when engaging in sustainable initiatives, is taking ambitious but abstract ideas, such as saving the world, and turning it into something specific and doable.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

Of all of the SDGs I have got some extra love for goal 7,11 and 17. The three of these together works as a basis for creating green, sustainable and cooperative communities, where groups of people can make a difference in a joined effort. What is not to love?

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My key interest within sustainability is helping people to discover how they can act more sustainably in an easy and achievable way, alongside making it easier for them to do so. As someone who stresses a lot about the future and the challenges it will bring, I find it helps to focus on small ways I can make my own habits more sustainable – such as cutting down on meat and single use waste – and then try and find other ways of tackling the bigger challenges, such as applying for jobs with sustainable companies, or working  together with other like-minded people as a Sustainability Influencer

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

The most important SDG for me is definitely Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. I find Goal 12 important, as it works towards solving so many climate and pollution issues before they even begin. We can only get so far by relying on consumers to consume in a more sustainable way, and I feel that the best way to encourage sustainable behaviour is by making it easier for
consumers to behave sustainably. I also like Goal 12 because it contributes towards achieving many of the other goals, such as No Poverty and Decent Work and Economic Growth – by providing access to decent jobs and a better quality of life, Affordable and Clean Energy by promoting resource and energy efficiency, and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by promoting sustainable infrastructure and more sustainable materials in construction. By educating consumers on sustainable consumption and lifestyles, Goal 12 also contributes to Clean Water and Sanitation, Climate Action, Life Below Water and Life on Land, as well as working towards Zero Hunger by tackling consumer behaviour around consumption of food which leads to food waste and affects the environment. For these reasons I feel like Goal 12 is the backbone of so many of the other goals and is the real key to achieving the Sustainable development Goals as a whole.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

As a Sustainability Influencer I want to help provide students across Denmark with information and inspiration on how to achieve the SDGs, alongside helping them access the tools and resources on offer to do so. As someone who is definitely not an expert themselves, I also hope that I can use this information and inspiration myself, to help me to act more sustainably now, as well as to find a career in the future where I feel I’m contributing towards making the world a better place.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

This is a big question! One that I cannot fully answer. There are so many things I am interested in within sustainability and, because many of them are so interlinked, it is difficult to unfold them. I guess is this intertwined way things are connected that I find so amazing. Considering the SDGs, I chose in the next question, I would say that what interests me the most are the technological and environmental systems and how they are connected to each other and to social and economic challenges. Understanding how everything is connected and design solutions from there is what I would love to do within sustainability.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

The SDGs that speak close to my heart are:

SDG 7 – Affordable and clean energy: energy is used every day, by everyone. It is what makes the world and societies move. In this sense, and because our societies cannot thrive without energy, this SDG has a lot of potentials in also solving social problems around the globe.

SDG 11 – Sustainable cities: around 60% of the world population lives in cities today and this number is predicted to rise in the following years. The cities need to adjust and become more sustainable in order to thrive and create resilient communities.

SDG 12 – Responsible consumption and production: waste is a huge challenge, especially in cities and in developing countries, contributing to the major health and environmental problems. Most of us buy stuff without thinking where that came from and where will it go after. We throw stuff away without thinking that there is “no out”, everything needs to be handled after. Most of the products we use today need to be re-think and re-design and a lot of information needs to reach the consumers in order to make more aware and sustainable choices. It might be the governments’ responsibility to regulate and create better conditions but we, as consumers and waste generators, have also major a responsibility in our personal choices.

SDG 13 – Climate action: climate change is already here and actions are urgent. The consequences are unpredictable and, for sure, it would start by affecting those who are more unprotected and vulnerable but, in the end, it will affect all of us living on this planet. Solutions to prevent and to tackle are needed in order to protect communities and make them more resilient in the future.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

I believe sustainability is the answer to many problems we face today in the world, and one of the first steps is to involve not only authorities and businesses but also the citizens in order to achieve a mindset with more concern towards sustainability. We, as students, are going to be the employers, employees and decision makers of the future. I believe I will feel content if, with this project, we could raise awareness and show some good practices to the academic and business community. I would feel my goal was achieved if we are be able to touch some people minds and change their mindset into more sustainable practices, it might follow them in implementing those practices in their work and also in their life.

Questions:

What are your key interests within sustainability?

My interests within sustainability are very integrated, but I’m very passionate about social entrepreneurship, innovation and impact investment, as I see this as a great opportunity to create a sustainable impact and value.

Which SDGs do you have an extra passion for and why?

I’m passionate about all the SDG’s, but I have worked and focused extra on SDG 9, 12 and 17. Especially SDG 12, I believe to be of great importance, as this is one of the goals that greatly affect other SDG’s, but also because Denmark and the Nordics are still challenged on the delivering on the targets of this SDG.

What do you want to achieve as a Sustainability Influencer?

I hope that the Sustainability Influencers will serve our purpose and help influence the way the public, governments and the private sector look at the Sustainable Development Goals. I want to be a part of a movement that changes the way we look at sustainability within our society, while at the same time delivering measurable impact and results.
